I guess from my viewpoint, she is another casualty of that 15 minutes of fame tagline. She seemed so desperate to make it that she would do anything but when the price was there to be paid she struggled.

Couldn’t agree more. As Barry the Baptist said, when you dance with the devil, you wait for the song to stop. These people eagerly and willingly invite this evil into their lives.

The press will continue to conduct themselves the way they do, until consumer behaviour changes. Until nobody cares about a “celebrity” looking a bit chunky on a beach somewhere, and people stop reading it / watching it / talking about it.

Society has moved the goalposts. Fame is now seldom about talent. Anyone can be famous. And nobody knows how to deal with it when it’s all over. Continuously seeking fame, particularly when you’ve already had it and lost it, can be a soul destroying quest.

Life can be hard. Talk. And make good choices.

People keep on saying that the media have played a role in this, but I'm not sure what you expected them to do? Were they supposed to ignore the fact that she had been charged with serious domestic violence? It's like claiming the media should not report on the Barrymore incident just in case it makes Michael Barrymore feel bad.

whilst it is very sad for all involved, if you make your living from the media, social or mainstream, you can't complain when the media make their living from you.

Mate you can't compare a case where someone was hit with a lamp and to one where someone was raped and found dead in a swimming pool.
