However he seemed to hold some very nasty bigoted views.

My al fella played with and against him.

I must have met him when i was a kid but can't say i remember unfortunately.

My Da says he used to play loads of charity games and wasn't a bit big headed, lovely guy and a massive Blue. He said pretty much everyone his age (60) who played knew about him.

...yes. I didn’t mind him, most of his racing views were very much in the interest of the punter (embarrassing betting companies if they failed to pay extra places etc). He was a failed bookie himself, and a Tory toft but he brought racing to non-racing fans and was a colourful character.
