Jimmy Armfield: one of my heroes as a youth. He was the first of the overlapping full backs, and how impressive and scary it was to watch. Jimmy Armfield was a one-club man, and became captain of Blackpool and England.
 


He was found frozen to death on the Pier Head.
Lived on The Wirral apparently, so that article is not very accurate.

The article quoted included this from Mike McCartney, Paul's parasite brother who said

"So sad to hear about Si. He was a luvly lad..and will be dancing along Uncle Bills bar, knocking Mum&Dad, Milly&Ginny, Mike &Betts drinks off, as we talk! Luv to U & kids from me & mine X”
'Open the door and let 'em in' is how he should have rounded that one off.....

I'm from the Wirral and can often see something Tinky winky when it's frozen as well.
