but what is worse, Corbyn promising the SNP they can have a Leave referendum if they get him into No 10 sounds pretty tawdry tbh......
They need one if we leave the eu as being in the eu was a core aspect in their remaining in the union.
Secondly, which approach do you think will be most conducive to a union:
i) Forcibly stripping devolved powers.
Or
ii) Permitting them to vote in the light of the above?

In what way is it tawdry? You cant argue that the circumstances have changed in Scotland if there is a Brexit so surely fair to go back to test independence. You know. Will of the people and all that.....:bye:

@peteblue is only supportive of the will of a very specific group of people, do keep up

Don’t get me wrong, I’m more than happy for Scotland to go their own way if that’s what they wish. I have no problem with any group of people wishing to stand on their own feet. However Corbyn isn’t doing this for any other reason than he sees it as a route to no.10..

You agree with him, yet you’re calling it ‘tawdry’.

That makes sense.

Personally I’d call writing 2 columns with opposing views on leave & remain, for the Telegraph, and then deciding which one to go with based solely on which one you felt was the most likely to assist in your life long ambition to reach No.10 as being ‘tawdry’.

You imply that they are propped up.

If we left on no deal then they'd have a vote and leave for sure. If we remain and they have a vote there is a chance they'll stay. Whatever the Tory party let this happen by promising a vote to stay a part of the UK was a vote to stay in the EU, then went to try and resolve internal party conflicts by screwing us all over with a referendum.

Stay or go, that’s up to Scotland. However, if we had voted Remain in the EU vote, would you be happy to re-run the vote every five years or so......

In fairness mate, if 6 months after the vote an explicitly pro leave Party (say UKIP or BXP) won 50% of the vote and 90% of the seats in a Parliamentary election I'd be almost certain we'd have another vote. Likewise if they have 75% of the westminster seats.

the Eu vote.....

I'm the wrong person to ask on this as I think there should be another vote as like the Scottish one, the main principle was we would get a deal from the EU to go forward if people voted no. And that is my point with this one (if Johnson isn't bluffing with no deal) and the Scottish one people were mislead and betrayed and that is why there is scope for new ones.

If the Scots vote hadn't hinged so much and critically on the EU argument then of course they shouldn't be able to have a new vote for (at least) a generation. But it was.

In regard to the EU one, we can leave with a deal as that was what was campaigned for and won. If they want to leave with no deal that wasn't and it should be put back to the people on the basis of agreeing a no deal exit.

If we leave the EU and we are right up crap creek in 5 years then I can see us having another one put forward. What a waste of how many years and how much money if that is the case, however if we do ok there won't be.

He’s offering a vote he thinks is right, he’s then saying ‘vote for me if you agree with my policies’ and then he’s going to enact them. It seems it’s just basic democracy.

Deal or No deal, this is only how we leave, it does not address a future trading relationship, merely how we get out. The existing deal keeps us locked into the EU with no voice and locks us out of setting up free trade agreements. This has all been done on purpose with the aim of wearing us down so we will reverse the decision.....
