These lot are so depressing , firstly if Badenoch is the best they have to offer then they’re in trouble . I think starmer has been less than impressive and was much better at PMQ’s in opposition , the opposite was certainly true of Sunak , but im not sure he can believe how bad Kemi has been . Already Farage is chirping from the sidelines saying a substantial number of backbenchers are already turning on her .

Secondly , and I suppose this sums up my relationship with the party , I saw am MP yesterday and he was quite impressive in his criticism and critique of Farage and his unwelcome he is in the party . I had a small amount of hope then you google roger gale and amongst other things see his comments on same sex marriage and a reprimand for trying to influence the judge on the Charlie elphick trial and realise the party seem doomed .

If you’ve put someone on ignore stop talking about them.

The CA forum is largely unmoderated, if there’s any issues we just pull access to it for individual members.

This is not a discussion prompt, end of.

Then please do so, and place eachother on ignore.
Absolutely tedious isn't it? Every single night there's some boring squabble to wade through.

Just done that mate for some.

Reminder;
  • Recently, we've had a couple of incidents were one or two have been a little overzealous or emotional - it's a real shame when some allow politics/current affairs to spoil their experience on GOT.

A reminder then that The Current Affairs forum is largely unmoderated. Our moderators take a step back from moderating. We won't/can't moderate this forum as we do the rest of the site, nor will we allow it to monopolise our time.

If we find anyone who finds this forum a bit too much, they become high maintenance and generally not suitable for this forum, we'll revoke their access to the current affairs forum.
Thanks.

So, erm, lunch is woke or something, and someone that invented herself as working class for working at a burger sandwich fast food chain is now suggesting sandwiches aren't real.

I simply do not have any idea how some people manage to fail through life with such attached success.

"Okay Kemi, we need you to say something about lunches that working people will really relate to".

"I won't touch moist bread, sometimes I get a steak brought in".

Also, you just knew Starmer would be a tuna kind of guy.

Ridiculous waste of everyone’s time and attention.

Thinking about suing BBC News for the brain cells I lost reading this bit.

Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch said: "Lunch is for wimps. I have food brought in and I work and eat at the same time.

"There's no time... sometimes I will get a steak... I'm not a sandwich person. I don't think sandwiches are a real food, it's what you have for breakfast."

What are these [Poor language removed] talking about. Why are Labour even responding to it? It’s not like there’s a load more important stuff that needs attention.

Well it goes like this. Badenoch did an interview for the Spectator (a sort of "Get to know the new leader" thing) in which she revealed her lunch habits.

For some reason, at the daily No 10 briefing, some journalist or other brought this revelation up and presumably asked after Starmer's Sandwich Stance. Probably thinking this was reasonably safe ground, the spokesperson revealed that Starmer doesn't mind a sarnie, usually tuna or toasted cheese. Would it be more newsworthy to knock it back with a straight bat and state that Starmer doesn't have a sandwich preference at all? Would that lead to speculation about a secret divisive favourite, like Marmite?

Slow news day, clearly, but that's how these arguments get confected. Starmer didn't just read about Badenoch's lunches, ring up Sky and start ranting about how great sandwiches are.
