People are talking about Cameron as being to the ‘left’ of the Tory party? Anyone know why this is? The cuts to public spending under the guise of ‘austerity’ have caused irreversible damage.

….maybe because he’s pro-European. Having ‘small government’ is normal Tory policy as I know from experience of working in the public sector for over 40 years.

inflation halved, bit of good news for Sunak. We’ll soon know if it’s going to be submerged by Rwanda ruling.

You can be right wing and pro European I think. Either way think it’s a bit of a fallacy given what went on during his tenure.

Depends who you compare him against in the Conservative Party. For a Conservative he is pretty socially liberal in the parental sense. Conservatives generally believe in small to no state intervention he is what he is.
Anyway, thought you and others would be happy as it's attempt to claw some centre ground off current Labour, so all is well in world of principle and conviction?

he's fiscally one of thatchers children, him and osbourne done so much damage to the UK it might be impossible to fix.
when you say he's socially liberal to me that means he generally wasn't arsed what people did in their private lives (as it should be).

Hear the courts have ruled against government and Rwanda plan. As we learned the other day despite all the rhetoric The Right are not free speech advocates. Today we will also learn again they are not fans of the rule of law.
