Tbf, her opening paragraph put paid to any semblance of fairness or balance. She then goes on to describe how a Labour council is sacking 3/4 of the relevant staff, so obviously it’s the dastardly Tories to blame. She should have retired years ago and taken her bitterness with her……
But the basic point stands, no? We're underfunding basic checks as part of a shrinking state which exposes us all to poor value and risk.

Well done to the Tory MPs who had the courage to vote and demonstrate their convictions.

I agree with you, but it’s really quite depressing that we should be congratulating Tory mps who have any semblance of good conscience and morals for doing the right thing.

Those that voted against, no matter how idiotic, moronic and downright crass they are, at least voted.

All those that abstained, including Sunak the shithouse, are the absolute worst of them all - they all have no place representing the people of this country - they are representing themselves and a select few very rich people, no matter what the poor fools in the red wall and those like our Pete think.

Hopefully, the nation has seen through the lot of them.

Indeed.

They will be kicked out and I completely agree with your view of Sunak. When a political party undermines and betrays their own PM it usually comes back to bite them on the arse, especially a PM as charismatic and a proven electoral winner as Boris. They deserve everything that is coming their way…..

Ffs Pete, this is absolute cobblers.

They didn’t undermine and betray your bestie Bongo - he did all the damage to himself and he’s the one who’s destroyed what was left of the Tory party, along with that snake David “is the” Cameron, by allowing the fascists, bigots and racists to drive the parties agenda - it won them then red wall but at what cost.

One other thing - Johnson has all the charisma of a rotting turnip - it’s just idiots and one braincelled cretins who have ever fallen for his schtick that have voted him and the party in, by playing up to the ukip racists and fascists and giving them a home and a voice - he’s everything that’s wrong with this fecking country mate and should never have got near to number 10.

If there are genuinely people that STILL believe Johnson is 'charismatic', then wow. Just wow.

Nothing wrong with voting him in. Millions did (rightly or wrongly) and that's people's right - I accept this, most do.

But he is one giant, sweaty, dandruffed, coked up slob, who is a serial cheater with a fairly decent vocabulary - and even with that he stumbles over his words terribly...

...Charismatic 🤣🤣🤣

'Kin hellfire, Sunak abstained?!?

The utter wagon.

Try the pub test…Boris, Sunak or Starmer who would you have a drink with….

The whole “Boris” persona is itself a manufactured charade.

An act as genuine as Dame Edna, or Alan Partridge.

Honed, to give the impression of a highly educated, intelligent, bit of a scamp, man of the people, with political wisdom, wit and vision.

It worked and convinced many, who possibly also think that Dame Edna and Alan Partridge are real people.

Unfortunately, the real Al (Alexander) as he is actually known and referred to by family and friends, couldn’t keep to the script and kept on reverting to his natural, odious, corrupt self.

As with Brexit, there are many who now refuse to acknowledge, that they bought into the act.

I'd rather play...let's decide who's fit and proper to run the country. We could even do a vote - shall we include everyone this time?

But in answer to you question: Starmer. Boris wouldn't get you one back and Sunak doesn't even know how to use a contactless bank card as shown at a petrol station last year.

Edit: Boris will be holding some gear, so if he's sharing - Boris. I'd say Boris.
