This is exactly what's happening. I needed to see an ENT consultant (to then consequently get a head scan) on the NHS. However, the wait would have been 6months to a year. My problem became so chronic I just had to go private. I could claim some money back through a work scheme, but still ended up paying £800 (I also spent a small fortune at the dentist). My issue was diagnosed (nerve issue) and dealt with within two weeks. I'm on an OK wage but far from being wealthy. Had I been a bit less fortunate and gone through the NHS I'd probably still be in pain and worrying about it today. What they've done to the NHS is a crime if you ask me.
Sorry to hear of your issues.
I can’t blame you or anyone for going private to get themselves sorted, it’s those who cannot do that who I feel so sorry for.
It’s an absolute disgrace what they have done to the nhs and every other public sector service that they privatised. How the public can contemplate trusting this shower now or ever again is beyond my comprehension.
I also have no issue with workers in those sectors striking for better terms - I couldn’t give a monkeys about their great pensions or whatever, they need an appropriate living wage and decent terms now, so solidarity to them all.
Anyone buying the media spin and narrative is an idiot. 12 years of Tory austerity, vip crooks plundering the public purse on the back of a global epidemic and then brexshit and the trussterfuck have caused what we are all dealing with now, not the workers or anything else.
