THERE IS A FOREIGNER IN THE ROOM NEXT DOOR - I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER
To be honest, that sounds like my mum.

That's not strictly true. There was some shift to the Tories in terms of votes. But a large portion went to the Brexit party as they wouldn't vote Tory. I fully expect they will come back to Labour.A load of old Mining towns in Durham voted conservative to get Brexit done.
I don’t see many people voting Brexit Party returning to Labour tbh. I worked in Blyth a fair bit, should have a lot going for it but the town has been left to become a shithole, with anyone kid with any kind of smarts about them, getting away as soon as possible. Rarely saw or spoke to any impassioned Labour voters except the ones working in front line services. That's not strictly true. There was some shift to the Tories in terms of votes. For example. North Durham had a 9k Labour majority prior to 2019. They lost 7k votes in 2019. Tories gained 3k votes, Brexit party gained 3k. And Tories beat Labour by 1k.
My own constituency had a 10k Labour majority. This is down to 800. But Tories only gained 2.5k votes from the 2017 election. Brexit party gained 3k (arguable that UKIP had 2k in 2017, however no LD in 2017 who also got 2.5k votes).
Similar situation in nearby Blyth where the win was narrow for Conservative but Brexit party votes would have swung it to remain Labour.
And the North East is one of the most deprived areas and has the highest levels of child poverty in the country which is worse after 12 years of Tories. They won't stick with this.
I see Britishvolt are about to go into administration because the 100m promised by Government as part of the funding process for the Gigafactory up in Blyth has failed to materialise. Apparently they relied on that funding as a key part to securing private funding.
What a joke. Was meant to bring 8k jobs for the area.
Financial Times reporting that they are spending 3m a month to pay salaries for 300 staff. That's a ridiculous amount.
There has been a lot of work put in along the beach front but yeah, the middle of town isn't great. I run in Blyth every week now and you dont come across many impassioned Tories here either. I do know several who voted Brexit party and it was down to just wanting Brexit done (and usually around having more control of the borders). There was also an element of Anti-Corbyn but of those I talked to about it, they were very unwilling to vote Tory.I don’t see many people voting Brexit Party returning to Labour tbh. Definitely still works going on there (no idea what though). I drive past it regularly and it's still very active. The CEO quit in the summer, all the building work stopped a few months back. Guessed this was going to be the outcome with it blamed on rising costs and the market.
Few other projects in the North East will go the same way as well.

I wonder what Ian Levy will make of it considering his whole arguement about why the Tories are so great for the last year has all been about the funding for the factory.

Six times in six weeks no less!6 times she sent official docs to her private email. Guaranteed she knew that was wrong but her sense of entitlement meant she thought she could do whatever.
Mentioned before, myself and just about everyone else would be sacked almost immediately for doing this and definitely not given the same job back cos the boss had changed. Is a disgrace.
That’s the thing. I’m certain she would have known but thought normal rules didn’t apply.Six times in six weeks no less!
Don’t think anyone old enough to have witnessed the Hillary Clinton email scandal and can credibly claim to not know about restrictions on using personal email, let alone the Home Sec that is responsible for National security.
