Hm ? Just as Labour is not the party of Harold Wilson  I voted for...I'm not sure these Tories are the ones @peteblue and many others voted for either

he voted for johnson didnt he? and still wants him as PM.
theres literally no difference between johnson and truss in political terms, both self-serving scum bags with absolutely zero convictions. they are in it for themselves and would do and say anything if they thought it would benefit them and their ilk.

Strictly speaking neither of us knows who he voted for - but if he did, he hasn't got what it said on the tin at the time...even by tory standards it's a total dogs breakfast

See the new health secretary is intent on ensuring she goes down as the most hated, since Hunt.
Told nurses today if they are unhappy with pay and conditions, they can just leave. No extra money and they will be replaced with nurses overseas.
Nice.

Not sure why she doesn't just get these overseas nurses anyway, fill the vacancies and make the job less stressful for the workforce.

Not compatible with Con Party policy to have foreigners coming over here and taking our...................see Daily Fail, Express, Telegraph,Times et al to finish this sentence.

I have another genuine question, if i may be allowed?

Im doing it ayway!!

Why hasnt Starmer forwarded a "vote of no Confidence!"

Is it just down to the numbers?

Im baffled why he isnt making hay over this massively.

I listened to him say that if they change leaders again it needs to be a GE but why isnt he using his position?

Or cant he?

Im not saying he will be any better, I have really never had as little faith in any of our MP's than I do right now.

Its a proper mess and needs an overhaul, but im just repeating myself now!

I think Starmer could table a motion of no confidence but he would need 71 Tory MPs (and a few others who lost the whip etc) to back it. And despite there being rumoured over 100 letters of no confidence with the 1922 committee, they won't vote to essentially lose their seats.

I don't believe there is any conventions in place to stop him doing so. I would expect its more that he doesn't feel the tory MPs who don't support her, are willing to vote against themselves and I assume some conversations have taken place with the backbenchers about this.

Or, he is waiting until she is ousted and it becomes more of a train wreck that any new leader has to go to the public. But ultimately he has very little power due to the size of the majority.

It does sadly seem that the Tories are getting a hammering primarily because of the Tories being utterly abysmal rather than any of the opposition parties being startlingly good. Labour are likely to win by default because they're the only real alternative rather than because of exceptional policies. It's perfectly fine for Starmer to be dull and wooden providing he has good policies and can implement them successfully. If he has neither then that's not great.

Cheers @Bruce Wayne and @Marius57 appreciate the responses.

What a freaking mess it is!

Fiddling while Rome burns and us mere mortals footing the bill!

Was just saying to a mate its almost like the people have gone way too far to the "meh" side, so much apathy due to constant bombardment with negativity and crisis after crisis!

Its sad to see a demise of the UK on such a scale. We were far from perfect in so many ways but where we are now, beggars belief.
