Tories will cane the poor (it's their default position) and you'll find the poor in every village and town .. be it Liverpool, Chester or Bognor Regis. Did the Government have to act on the deficit? Sure - the only argument is how much / how quickly. Did Labour cause the deficit? No. The completely irrresponsible behaviour of capitalists across the world but mainly in Wall St and the City of London lies at the root of it.

Sorry ... not good headline grabbing stuff but pointless posturing about being a Self Made Man, and weepy stuff about poverty in Bootle disguises one thing: the poor, elderly, disabled and geographically disadvantaged are going to find life hellishly difficult from here on in.

There'll be bugger all pineapple on pizza now!

They have got people thinking 'oh this isn't that bad, the tories are alright after all', but wait until the winter and the mass job cuts, then see who thinks voting for change was a good idea.
