He's up there with Carlton Palmer for the rubbish footballer of the 90's award.

Weirdly, Jermaine Beckford exhibited similar levels of ball control, but was a useful goal nabber for us.

I think he was just "to burly" and not fast enough as a consequence. I mean, he was a right big fella. I reckon he was bought as a striker that would "boss" the area with his build rather than his finesse.

I remember he was on the bench after he had just signed for us, and we were singing " Get him on, get him on " and he was brought on as a sub.

After 5 mins, people were singing " Get him off, get him off " he did try though, but he was just not good enough for the top level.

all i remember is we needed someone tall as a striker for ages(not sure why) and he was tall and available so we bought him, genius

If anyone is interested, he's not working at Tescos, he's over here in New Zealand, and works for the governing body for football in my area (Central Football) in an admin role I think, has a really good reputation over here with the role he does.

According to a mate who has worked with him, he apparently can have a good laugh at himself about his career at Everton but was proud to have worn blue. I've got a mid 90s shirt I keep meaning to get him to sign for me, not many people can say they'd have one of them
