The bomb shelter thread.

I love the smell of mod napalm in the morning.

The morning after a match is like the last scene in Platoon where Adagio for Strings starts up and we survey what is left of the battlefield. The smell of dead bodies and cordite hangs in the misty air. We try to pick up what is left of the survivors but some are hell bent on revenge and get KIA right in front of our very eyes.

The horrors of Everton. No one will understand unless you are veteran. The flashbacks and the nightmares that we'll never be able to shift...the insanity of it all.

:hayee:

You either stay long enough to develop the 100-yard stare to filter out the bedwetting posts or the trauma gets to you and we see a self-destruction like the unfortunate @Philw

Nobody escapes unscathed.

Perfect storm that for me last night, the manner of the RS goal, you know, it is fixed - still angry about it.

On reflection I don't think us winning would have shifted that mood, but to see us match systems with the bottom of the league team and offer nothing at all; Shelterers, something snapped in me and I told myself not to type because I would have been apologising today.

I appreciate all of you who go back into E-Sector and manage to ride that tiger. If I had followed I would be wearing the red banner of courage and sleeping with the fishes a la @Philw.

I try and tell myself that I live 1000 miles away, I don't need to care and I don't need to have my life shaped by EFC. But, once in a while, it all combines and I go full Hyde.

Anyway, thank you all, for providing me with a sense of community and some great laughs. I appreciate all of you. Let's just hope we're all around for the good times too. Or at least our multis are.

Mate, is that a roundabout way of saying you were consuming magnets and ice-cream last night?

Please say it ain't so!
