The Blue and Red thread

Great thread this.

I'd agree with most on here, theres an advantage in numbers of support towards Liverpool.

Like others have said, we need to win something and soon to hook the next generation to be honest.

Amoungst the auld arses i'd say its a 50/50 split, my Dads sort of age.
My age, i'd say they have an advantage cos when i was a young lad they were winning what seemed like literally everything. They've lept that advantage, with sons following thier dads etc. Although now your already seeing some random city and chelsea kids about the place.

Impossible to put actual figures on it obviously

My dad was a blue as are all my brothers, grew up in the 60s when Everton were still the bigger club,I have always felt that the North end of the City was more blue where as the South end more Red.
I have always hated the ****e nothing has changed there but it is a fact that a successful Liverpool is definitely bad for Everton support wise and 3 years in particular did us no favours 1971/1986 and 2005.

I am from South Wales and there are people I know who claim to be supporters of Liverpool and Man U etc but the majority I know never ever go to any games and not even try to get a ticket when they are playing down here or anywhere south. Some don't even bother watching them when they are on the telly.

Me and my Everton pals here do all we can to go to get to the games and also enjoy our trips to Goodison when we can.

Why we support Everton ? well it's either family links to the area or spending time there working near the area and making great friends with people. I am also interested in reading as much as I can about the history of the club.

As for the 2nd part of the OP question well I cant answer that but it is interesting to read your views on the percentage of support we get from within the city and also what percentage of our match day attendance are from the area.
