The Big Man

I'm going to put my neck on the line as it's obvious that Ferguson is held in high regard here, and say that whilst I was a big fan of Ferguson when we arrived from Rangers in '94 and looked forward to seeing him at Goodison, with hindsight what exactly were his moments of fame when he was here.?

He made an instant impact in beating the crap in the derby late the same year, and grabbed the headlines with the only goal in a rare win over Manchester in early '95, even coming on as a sub for the FA cup Final win over the same opposition, but apart from that I'm struggling to recall great moments from the man.

A performance against Wimbledon on new years day '96 and another moment in a derby when he scored a fine goal in a stalemate but other than that great moments were few and far between. No doubt that Ferguson was a crowd favorite at Goodison, but as for an Everton legend, not even close. Sorry.

You can't class him as in the same caliber of Hickson, Ball, Lawton or Labone.
