I don't think people dispute others having a view, merely that they would like to provide some positivity in relation to Brexit. For instance, had Patel said "we're going to restrict migration, and are allocating £x million to help ensure the British population have the skills to do the job" or "we'll be providing £x million for R&D/deployment/tech tax cuts so technology can be invested in instead" then you could at least see that there was a plan in place, but instead it just smacks of dog whistling to appease the darker elements of our nature.

Speaking to a mate who works in hospitality over the weekend. He was saying that the industry is very worried about these latest comments from Patel. He’s largely apolitical himself.
Think you’re right like, it’s wolf whistling to the racist elements of our society and fits with ‘the get brexit done’ mantra. It’s all meaningless sound bites for now policy wise. Disgusting in every other way

It's weird that people keep on typing ( mostly in a bubble ) to themselves about Brexit on here.

It's done, I wish it hadn't been, but it is, and typing to each other to show how much better educated or informed than those that voted to leave will change [4 letter word] all.

Regardless of how much Brexit may be negatively affecting you and your nearest and dearest, it's just one of many, many things you have no control of, so try to concentrate on things you can actually influence.

Like Everton Football Club or the Transfer thread.

Haha.

Must admit, each to their own, I don't understand why anyone would post in a transfer thread in February !

There's still a difference though. You might inform or educate someone about transfer targets or just general club related issues, but I can pretty much guarantee you won't do any such thing in this, or any other Brexit related thread on GOT though. Chances are, you'll either wind yourself, or someone else up, while achieving the square root of jack all.

Admittedly, winding someone else up has it's merits sometimes - see also @peteblue's posts :)

Best just to never think speak or discuss anything ever again then

Reckon it's you in a bubble, plenty of disagreement within us who voted remain. Just we don't squeel at every opportunity about all being toffees when overwhelming evidence does not validate some peddled opinion.

DM telling us today how we shouldn’t fear chlorinated chicken . Now it’s only an article in a newspaper but The strong talk of how we wouldn’t be lifting the ban under ‘any circumstances’ seems to be shifting slightly.

While it might be good to share the learning across member states about infection, the UK leads on a lot of this work.

Also, the EU demands that every country in the EU signs up to the EPP (EU pandemic programme), but as it's not yet been declared a pandemic the EMA European Medical Agency) haven't started proactively vaccinating people or preparing countries with the necessary drugs and equipment and worse still aren't supporting the Italians because state aid rules about pharmaceuticals forbid it.

On this issue, member states pay millions into the EU health programme who then dictate to the national immunisation advisory Groups (NITAGs) when and what they can do, which in practical terms like this is problematic because it's a lot of red tape.

Definitely one benefit for being out of the Union I'd say. Assuming the UK takes the necessary steps to proactively prepare for it getting worse

I might have made all of this up
This morning it would appear self quarantine was the advice, totally ignoring that it can be carried by those exhibiting no signs of infection.

I've not heard that it can be transmitted by those who have no signs of infection. Anyone able to offer any update? @RAFUH

The infected British businessman who visited the chalet, known as the “superspreader,” is the U.K.’s third confirmed case. The French health ministry is treating and holding the individuals at a hospital until there is no further threat.
The individuals at the ski chalet included families and children. A 9-year-old boy confirmed with the virus came in contact with children at two local schools. The fact that one person could spread the virus to over 11 people in four countries is just another reminder to be vigilant, wherever you’re traveling.
