The Ashes 2025

There was a lot to like about this England side, but they always give me the impression that they have no patience for test cricket.

If the other team puts up any resistance or slows the fame down, they get frustrated and throw wickets away and give easy runs.

The entire philosophy is built on 'creating pressure on the opposition" whereas the execution often does the opposite.

They need a big change in selection for the test team and I'm not sure I would stick with Mccullum either. They don't seem as willing to adapt as they should

pigheaded. bin.

The majority of that England team shouldn’t play test cricket again. But, they will.

Crawley - the experiment is over now. We’ve spent 5 years building him up for this tour, for what?
Duckett - Won’t make it to the next Ashes but least give him this summer to see what’s what
Pope - you’re done
Root - sorry, king
Brook - a future England captain, so, annoyingly, won’t be going anywhere
Stokes - the body is giving up, Ben
Smith - can’t keep wicket, has constant brainfarts, nope
Bethell - happy to be proven wrong. Gets the summer
Carse - CRAP
Tongue - stock increased, let’s see more
Potts - could have told you 3 years ago he was a pointless pick
Archer - cracking player, hope the body keeps up
Wood - worrying
Jacks - ta’ra
Bashir - ta’ra

Thought aus would wrap up at 2am - 2:30am, but it took till 5:30am. Although the pressure was off and they had plenty to spare a last innings 5 wickets is pretty good.

First look overview. there's an ashes in 18 months.
crawley 27 yo, nah. bin.
duckett 31 yo, nah. bin.
bethell 22 yo, saved himself at the last, just about earned another chance.
root 35 yo, my guess is retirement series.
brook 26 yo, shown just enough, kept on by the skin of his teeth.
stokes 34 yo, isn't getting any less injured. serious question over him. might be time to cash in.
smith 25 yo, brainless. first for the chop.
jacks 27 yo, statement culling, gone!
carse 30 yo, did just enough with the ball, survives, just.
potts 27 yo, nah, bin.
tongue 28 yo, survives.

archer 30 yo, sadly like stokes, injury prone, can't cope.
pope 28 yo, bin.

5/13 to go forward with. this series has to be the death knell for a set of careers that never were. bow out graceful. need to be finding the next root and stokes now and preparing them for some tough times.

key and mccullum need tarring and feathering and made to drag a great weight each out of london from piccadilly and banishing. remove their names from the records, they no longer exist.

to much dead weight. failures meaning promotions. the very definition of the slime in the tory party. so long.

good timing sir.

The biggest pleasure outside of seeing Smith, Starc, Head and co play well and win for me is seeing the tosser that is Stokes preside over a humiliating series loss and gradually get angrier and angrier. He's a ginger VVD playing it up for the cameras after dismissals and the tough guy act then wheeling himself out to the slips today reminiscent of big virg in the stands when he was injured only to lose.
