Don’t agree with that. If Brook played safe for ones he’d still be on 20, with rain an hour away.

Playing the way he did has got us to 19 away and a chance to finish it.

I meant on the run in - e.g. when we needed less than thirty. Once you know victory is in reach but with only the tail end remaining, take some care.

Start playing within yourself and it can make it worse. Tension ratchets up and you feel more and more pressure to get runs.

If it was sunny skies all day tomorrow I’d maybe agree but there might only be two hours of playable time from today and tomorrow.

My son obviously prefers white ball cricket, but he's happily sat down and watched a good few sessions of the Ashes with me and is enjoying it.
