It's all relative though. And England scraped a draw against the same team who have been beating them soundly every game till today.
Of course you are right but if you set the bar that low you will never achieve.

Expectation and performance needs to be far higher.

This tour mirrors Everton's season - shambolic.

You have players on big Central contracts that have been failing for too many games.

Add in that a few players were batting with injuries, a couple are horrifically out of form and c19 means they can't play other games to try and get in form, their potential replacement will have played little to no cricket for the same reason, today was an OK day. Hobart next up
I guess that was a good day in the end. No one wants to lose 5 nil and batting over a hundred overs to save a test isn't something that team do very often

Pathetic that we are celebrating surviving for a draw.

Just like the likes of @davek thinking Benitez is a football genius because we scrapped a win against a pitiful championship team.
Agree with you totally Jazzy. Just catching up on the "expert" opinions, I'm pig sick of listening to well, we can take x, y and z from this match. No you can't. They were 3-0 down, lost the Ashes with abysmal team selection and spineless efforts, and have only played properly when it didn't matter. Would have lost this one too had it not been for the rain delays. &7more overs at the end of today would have resulted in another defeat.

I make you totally spot on anj.

OK they showed a modicum of fight , which is an improvement, but as you properly say we would have comfortably lost if weather hadn't intervened.

Hardly a cause for celebration.

The way Marnus Labuschagne got out is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a cricket field! As soon as I saw it the dismissal it reminded me of when Dominic Cork got Pakistan's Ijaz Ahmed out back in 1996 at Lords.
