Slow but a solid first day from England. Great to see Vince and Stoneman get decent scores, and there's no reason why Malan can't kick on and get a very big score, it's not exactly a fearsome wicket.
Hopefully Moeen and Malan can extend their partnership and with Bairstow and Woakes to come I can't see why we can't get up towards 400.

Decent first day from England. Aussie slightly nudging it but an interesting game lies ahead. If England get out cheap today, Aus will have the best time of the test to bat as the pitch hardens and flattens, I fully expect Warner to make big runs first up.
Not too worried about middle order collapses, both teams are going to do it all series.

I don't think stokes is a player that you should worry about averages, he'll get in peoples faces, have great moments and turn the momentum of games, a bit like freddie. I do agree on Ali though, just a very talented cricketer
Pitch is slow and turning which is unusual for day 1 at the Gabba, so it may be hard to predict how it will be affected as it dries up. May help our bowlers and may not.
