Only listening on the radio but sounds like stoneman and vince are fairly comfortable at the crease

So far, so good. Test cricket is meant to be a test. Vince and Stoneman have had slow starts to their test careers (as famously did Graham Gooch) but we've got to show patience in who we've gone with.

I'd have taken that before the start. Make them bowl lots and wait for them to get injured.

Gooch famously bagged a pair on debut (which jokers said the 'oo' in his name represented!) and he ended up being one of our best ever batsmen.

Showing patience is all important. We need to tire their bowlers out and wait for their long-hop.

what was goochs record like at first class though? Vince has been awful most of last season, I mean to have a player batting at 3 in your test team who averages under 40 in first class cricket is bizarre
