It's in my state and that should kick in some emotion about it being close to home or whatever but, like, there's sooooo many shootings every day and there's so many school shootings and that's America. You just hope it's never yours. It's kinda like any other disease that won't be cured soon, feel sad and hope the next news is a long time away.

If you have access to Frontline (on PBS in the USA) they do an amazing deep-dive into all the various failures that happened that led to the Maine shooting in Lewiston. It is an incredible bit of journalism and parts of it are a tough watch. Highly recommend.
