Tbf, though the availability of guns is an utterly demented situation over there, there is a serious mental health problem involved in a lot of the cases too. There always seems to be so many people at breaking point in the US, who exhibit behaviours that would be incomprehensible to people living in Europe, Canada or Australia

Indeed, and what compounds it is that the healthcare industry bills them for mental health treatment as well - so in addition to the stigma and the realities of suffering from a condition like that, you also end up paying thousands of dollars for it as well.
