Such bizarre results in these CNN exit polls. Half of Republican voters polled said that COVID has caused them no financial hardship but at the same time 70% say rebuilding the economy is the top priority right now. How does that even make sense?

If their belief set has no logic or internal consistency to it, you should not be surprised when they espouse additional beliefs with no logic or internal consistency.

In this case, at least it's somewhat altruistic - 'I'm not suffering, but other people are, so we should do what we must to help them.'

I'd be a little concerned about what they mean by 'help them', though. I suspect that, functionally, they want our service economy to go back to the way it was, which is unrealistic.
