It is very sad to think that 60M people voted for that person.
Even more if you consider that many of them voted for Trump the personality and not Trump the politician.

70 million or so I think. It's easy to look down on those people as ignorant, racist numpties. I do it all the time, but as we see on this forum, it's not really an approach that changes many minds. That's perhaps irrelevant on an online football forum, but for a president or prime minister, they need to find a way to communicate. Biden appears to have the temperament to do so, but the divide is a hefty one so it'll be a heck of a job to bring the sides together.

There's far too many people who are stuck in their partisan views: urban versus rural; Republican versus Democracts. They'd vote for a bin if it was Republican.

Congratulations to the Romney 2012 team on their resounding victory in the 2020 Presidential elections! I wonder if I'm the only person old enough to remember being told we had to vote against Romney to save the nation from white supremacy ; ) I'm confident Mitch McConnell is preparing a magnanimous compromise on the public option in response to this gracious conciliatory gesture. And the peasants will be delighted to learn they're going to be governed by the oligarchs' butlers again, who they hated so much that they voted for Trump just to be rid of.

Meanwhile, the Democratic elders - who deliberately decided not to do any door-to-door campaigning, almost certainly costing them southern Florida - have quickly turned on the grassroots organisers who rescued the Mid-West despite them. And Robby Mook's computer continues to fail upwards.

America is healing. All is back to normal across the land.

Get money out of politics. Less incentive for lobbyists, special interest groups, shitehawk media companies spewing bile and hatred, shrink the online grifters and get representatives doing what they should be doing - representing the people, rather than the donors that got them there.

People might actually listen to what they've got to say, and what they say might mean something. I'm happy Biden's won as a malignant narcissist scumbag is out of the chair, and they might start to get a hold of covid, but zero will change under him or Harris.

I'd say the jury remains out regarding any more successful approach in terms of reaching those people.

Schumer and Pelosi ; )

Has the unsightly orange turd been flushed yet?

Meh, he'll make a song and dance of leaving, to stretch a metaphor, a nasty streak on the bottom of the pan as he goes.
There are views that this is all a publicity stunt by trump and his real endgame is to set up a "news" media outlet off the back of the "election fraud".

Make no mistake, this isn't the end of trump, just the begining. Him and his pals will be much more extreme in their views as well.

He's here to stay. America will become more divided and extreme than ever and they will suffer for it.
