"A new poll by a firm linked to Joe Biden is testing messages designed to undercut support among Democrats for Medicare for All, one of the most contentious issues splitting the party’s top presidential contenders.
The survey, commissioned by the centrist Democratic think tank Third Way, found that primary voters start off favoring the government-run health care system by a margin of 70% to 21%, but can be persuaded to oppose it. The study showed that Democrats are most swayed by the arguments that the program would impose a heavy cost on taxpayers and threaten Medicare for senior citizens.
The poll was conducted by Lisa Grove of Anzalone Liszt Grove Research. Her partner, John Anzalone, is the chief pollster and an adviser to Biden, who opposes Medicare for All and wants to make government-run insurance optional".
But hooray!!! At least the policy compromises worked and they managed to persuade everyone that Biden had nothing to do with 'socialism'!!!
Democrat voters actually believe, even now, that utter gremlins like Pete Buttigieg or whatever are aw-shucks all around nice guys trying their best to help people, and are forced to compromise into terrible, unpopular policies because those silly poor white Republicans demand to pay thousands of dollars a month for insurance that they can't even use because the copays are too high. They want to believe the kayfabe, every single time.
Obviously, the opposite is true - the Democrats' function is to manage the expectations of the base such that they do not impede the profitability of their real constituents: corporate donors.
It's almost endearing how credulous they are. They're just so earnest, and convinced that next time the football won't be pulled away.
Say what you will about Republican voters but at least they know better than to trust their own party establishment, which is why they all hate Mitch McConnell almost as much as they hated Hillary Clinton.
