About Trump's speech... Some pundit commented that he could've used this moment to praise his voters / the magnificent turnout and democracy in the US, but instead he went (unsurprisingly) the bellicose way. Another lost opportunity to try to bring people together.

How?

If you’re coming up against an actual racist and can’t rely on the vote from black and Latino people then you have to look at yourself and ask why that is.

A lot of people just focused on the economy and jobs when it come to this election. I think that is becoming more and more clear.

Also, “You ain’t black if you don’t vote for Joe Biden” was a terrible, terrible moment for him.

He also co wrote the crime and law enforcement act that targeted black communities and cause havoc leading to harassment and high incarceration of minorities. And a few other questionable race related political moves.

The presidency is the worst thing that could have happened to Trump's ego. He fell ass backwards into one of the most polarizing jobs in the world.

Yeah basically this. It's going to have been enough to edge out a win so I suppose it worked. But it was a poor campaign because it solidifies your opponent's core vote and it also doesn't enthuse your own base to come out and vote.
