Hmmmmm no problem, your first sentence says a lot. If you spent the three minutes it would take to read the post versus the time taken defending Bloomberg’s actions your points would have meaning.

No idea what the rep points actually mean on here but feel free to minus as many more that will make you happy. I do give credit to Bloomberg when he was the mayor of New York. The city was transformed into one of the worlds safest cities and tourism flourished. Now it is a cesspool and a no go area for many people which is sad
Please feel free to expand on this (seemingly) ridiculous claim. Are you mainly talking about the outer boroughs? From everything I can remember reading, crime in NYC has been trending downwards for years, and at no point when I was there did it seem unsafe. Prior to COVID, I’m pretty sure tourism was still doing just fine.

It was:
New York is a no go area is a top current affairs comment. Up there with obliterating Tehran

I think Trump picked up (some maybe just enough) votes amongst the floaters for what he wasn't...he wasn't Obama or a woman
None of that applies this time round.

Like I've said.
Vote Trump once, shame on him.
Vote Trump twice, shame on you.

I visited relatively recently. Was only in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn like but never felt unsafe. Probably one of the safer downtown areas in the US. Albeit, full of selfish Michael Douglas wannabes

I think a fair amount of folk switched from Obama to Trump. When you vote for someone on the back of big promises of change and nothing happens then you’re gonna be pissed.

On the subject of no go areas (as I know the right love this topic to try and evidence societal decline) I have yet to find one anywhere in the world. Heard the Favelas can be very dangerous to a gringo and I’m sure there are others but they’re not at all prevalent as is made out. Can’t imagine the village I live in would be very welcoming to a Polish or refugee family mind you.

I think he may have actually energized a decent few people who don’t normally vote as well. The type of people who think both parties suck and there’s no point in voting, but were willing to give an outsider a chance. Four years on, I’d say a lot of them have some buyer’s remorse and will either go back to staying at home, or vote one more time to try and correct their mistake.

honestly, I've been all over the place (excuse the humble brag) and I felt a bit unsafe in Sao Paolo and one or two other spots. I've been robbed a few times, once at knife point, gladly gave up what ever crap i had and moved on, not excusing them but they were out for cash not physical harm but I've never come across anything like Irish and Brittish cities after the pubs close for indiscriminate violence. Obviously if you go looking for trouble you'll find it anywhere. Granted, I haven't lived in Dublin for 12 years but last time I lived there, there's no way I'd let my wife come home from the pub when it closed on her own. I would in Boston or NYC.

London is far and away the big city I’ve spent the most time in, and honestly I don’t know that there’s anywhere in the world I’ve ever felt safer. There’s pretty much nowhere I’ve been in London (particularly Central) that I wouldn’t feel okay walking around at any hour of the day. There’s just a strength in numbers. Too many eyes watching for anybody to try anything too crazy.

Oddly enough, the tiny little town my dad grew up in in West TN is, to this day, basically a no go zone for black people. That’s the only example of such a place I can personally attest to.

woooww mate, you're listening to all the wrong people.
Seriously, ask yourself where you heard this then never use that source for information ever again.

Here you go lads. My source is actually from NYPD themselves. Have a browse through. The great thing about these stats is that they are accurate and based on methodology and reports where there are real victims of crime

Excellent stats. Do these stats prove your point that NY is a ‘cesspool’ and a ‘no go area’ though. It would be simpler to say you made a mistake by using hyperbolic language than doubling down and looking more daft
