I bet something like 60% of people will not even vote. They moan but cannot be bothered walking to the polling station or even arranging a postal vote.

Of course, more austerity then please. Bring us back to Victorian age spending.

What austerity ? The 'Savage Cuts' are a joke put out to convince the markets that we were doing the right things and to allow the BBC to get all heated up. In reality there are more people in work, no inflation and the price of goods are coming down. If you think what we have now is austerity you are in for a massive shock if we ever do get any.........

Your being silly right?

There is no doubt that this government is just as cruel as Thatcher's.

The potential Green/SNP alliance could be interesting. They would have to form coalition with Labour, of course, but Labour would take this over a minority government any day.

....I genuinely feel it could be worst than Thatchers. I'm not scaremongering but some of the rhetoric is extreme. I suspect, though, we will have another Tory led coalition. I fear for a generation of youngsters if they have a majority.

Who would they form a coalition with though?

But what exactly do you fear on their behalf........

Why ? so you can completely ignore or deny it. I could invite you down to the food bank I volunteer for ( we need all the help ) and see for yourself some of the proof, but you'd probably class them all as lazy, scroungers or liars.

Nice one volunteering. The conservatives have implemented a system in which benefits can be totally withdraw if you don't prove you are looking for work (There have been examples of benefits being withdraw for 3 weeks because a person wrote his job search on the wrong line of his JSA diary). This has seen an explosion in people going to food banks.

......for example, the public sector has been a rich recruiting area for school leavers and graduates. I work in a government department and we genuinely haven't taken anybody on since the last election. I was talking to a teacher last night, his view is that whole system is falling apart.

I have to say that I'm ok, I retire next year but I worked through the Thatcher years and it was depressed. The stats don't lie, unemployment has dropped but I fear the vast majority of jobs are low pay. Low pay means a generation don't buy houses, cars etc. without being cynical, I'm sure the sons of wealthy politicians will be ok. I genuinely feel for youngsters who work hard at school, do everything advised and end up with little reward.
