You have no idea of my political beliefs. You'd be hard pressed to find a Tory claiming that immigrants aren't as much a drain on our finances as one would believe.

Your immigration ideals are in line with what UKIP are proposing, check it out.
OK Tory boy if you have led us on to be a right left winger or a LD then fine, but you are quoting Tory newspapers with your Tory ideology!
I will not be voting U kip or Tory ok!

Id rather people worried about the con artists who pose as MPs,the sanctioning and portrayal of the worse
off in society 500,000 people currently getting hardship payments,700.000 on 0 hours contracts, social cleansing
of certain areas of London, ever increasing homelessness, ever increasing repossession of homes, erosion of NHS and
social services I really couldnt give a toss about how many EU workers are here

I'm sorry for claiming to be left wing and quoting the Telegraph because they had the easiest to find latest immigration data. I'm sorry that it didn't suit your view of the country being drained by immigrants.

I'm not sure why you won't vote UKIP, your views are a perfect fit. Seriously.

Spot on. Sadly, this is all masked by false immigration scare mongering.

Its not just immigration though its the whole portrayal of the lesser in society, look how many headlines,tv programmes there
are about scroungers, yet when the rich and the bankers screw the country nothing is said, austerity only applys to the poor,
while the mps claim for anything and everything why not lead from the front and tighten their own belts first

Ultimately, 92.6% of working-age benefit claimants are British, while 7.6% are Non-British (only 2.5% of these come from the EU countries). This shows that the largely held view of EU immigrants costing us lots of money through benefits is a myth. The issue is overstated in the rags and by the right-wing politicians.

Further off-set but some UK nationals claiming benefits in other EU countries at any given time, of course.

The "foreigners are flooding our country, milking our benefits and stealing our jobs" mantra simply doesn't hold water. Anyone buying it is being manipulated by politicians with ulterior motives.

I read today that the NHS continues to pay for the treatment of the majority of the 400,000 who moved to Spain over the last 5 years.

Immigration, ultimately, is a red herring which allows the politicians to just get on with filling their boots and riding roughshod over our civil liberites and fundamental rights. These are surely some more pressing issues that we should be more bothered about:

  • The creeping privatisation of the NHS - TTIP is a bomb waiting to go off
  • Continuing under-investment in education
  • Continuing cuts in Police force and emergency services
  • MASSIVE illegal intrusion by GCHQ and the government in our lives
  • Bent MPs milking the system (how many heads actually rolled during the so-called expenses scandal?)
  • The poor have paid for the Great Recession - the top 0.1% are nearly twice as wealthy as in 2007
  • Multinationals continue to do what they want, paying little or no tax in this country
  • Zero-contract hours becoming more and more the norm - workers' rights further and further eroded
  • Westminster paedo ring cover-up
  • The mysterious delaying of the Chilcot Report until after the election
  • The Living Wage

....very good expose by C4 news on immigration detention centres. Like many prisons these are run by private companies. It's basic, private companies are there to make a profit whilst the public sector is there to provide a service. Nobody should be surprised that standards are so disgustingly poor.

chartoftheday_3144_World's_80_Richest_People_Have_Same_Wealth_As_Poorest_50%25_n.jpg

The wealthiest 80 people on the planet have more wealth than the poorest 3,500,000,000 people.

By next year, the richest 1% will have more wealth than the other 99% combined.

Global stats, yes, but the UK picture is pretty similar to the World one and it's getting worse and worse. The above graph shows who has shouldered the burden of the Great Recession. All in it together, my arse.

Worth posting again.

Rich people have more money than poor people.

Cant really get exorcised by that if I am honest.

Education and the Economy. They are key, pretty much everything else is irrelevant if they both fail.

And, yeah, folk can bang on about this cut or that tax rate, but, on any reasonable measurement, our economy is moving in the right direction, our education, whilst far from perfect, seems to deliver young people into society reasonably well.

Everyone who I know who has took I'll in Spain on holiday recon their NHS was brilliant no waiting in A and E four hours?
Spain has its own N H S before travelling there you have to notify them?
