PIE hasn't existed since 1984 and the link was tenuous at best.

So which "numerous" paedophile groups do Labour "have ties" to?

You can't make a claim like that without substantiating it.

And Blair was never any more than soft left during his time in the Labour party, so you're talking about student flirtation with communism, which is hardly uncommon. Not like spending a couple of years as a fully-paid-up member of the NF.

I hate Blair and wish he would catch fire, for what its worth.

I can make any claim that I wish as long as it's true. If you really want more information on the facts it's almost as simple as typing "Labour party paedophiles" into Google. I just did and the very first link has archives of a shockingly large number of councillors, lords and candidates all convicted for either possession of indecent images or actual harassment. Actually found it quite saddening. The point I'm trying to make here, anyway, is that Labour does, whether you or anyone else likes it or not, have ties with paedophilia, yet nobody seems to hold that against them. The second a UKIP candidate says the word "immigrant" in a way which could even be perceived to be slightly negative, the media and hoards of angsty left-wingers are on them like springing a mouse trap. The second a Conservative or Lib Dem avoids a penny of tax, the media is on them.

People say that because a minority of UKIP might be racist, all of UKIP are racist. These are largely the same people that argue against the idea that because Islam has some terrorists, it is a violent religion. Double standards and hypocrisy everywhere. People don't make the assumption that all of Labour are paedophiles because that's ridiculous, just like it's ridiculous to assume that Islam is extremist, or UKIP is racist.

At least we have a mutual dislike for Blair.

Yknow what, you're right. Being linked with racists and fascists ain't all so bad when you put it in that context, I'm gonna vote the UKIPs after all!

Except two wrongs don't make a right mate. It is no defence to Ukip to just bash Labour. Regardless of how tenuous or valid your allegations about the Labour party may be, it doesn't make UKIP any less a party full of bigots.

Your patronising tone isn't needed mate. As I've said above, I'm not trying to excuse UKIP's failures, or attack Labour, but rather pointing out the huge double standard against the two parties. People jumping on the hate-UKIP bandwagon as the media tells them to, while there are much more serious problems closer to home.

I apologise for the sarcy tone of my earlier post. However, three different people quoted you earlier in this thread when you were posting in support of UKIP, and your only response has been point out the links between Labour and paedophilia. If you have such faith in UKIP, then you should be able to defend the party on it's own merits. So, let's talk UKIP, not Labour.

Tell me what makes Nigel Farage an appealing candidate to lead the country? This is a man who claimed £200,000 for an office space which he used rent-free. He brags about the level of expenses he claims for the european parliament. He refuses to have an independent accountant audit his accounts.

In Europe, he sits with renowned fascists and racists. Why would I ever vote UKIP when Farage is chair of the EFD? You have ignored my point on this previously, but the EFD is home to all of Europe's big fascist parties including the Northern League (whose founder wanted immigrants in Italy to be shot).

You've talked about the "absurd" policies of the Greens. Well, UKIP want to abolish inheritance tax all together (I wonder why...) thus costing the country £3bn per year, but saving Farage's rich mates in the city a few quid when their parents croak. They want to ban the teaching of climate change in schools, despite the overwhelming scientific consensus supporting it. They even pledged to make taxi driver's wear uniforms a few years back. They're barking.

On a separate point, you seem to insinuate some sort of anti-UKIP/anti-tory agenda in the media, but this hasn't stopped you posting links to various pieces with clear agenda's against the Green Party. If there is a bias in british media, it is clearly pro-right, not pro-left. In the last general election, Labour had the support of one national newspaper (the mirror). Even the Guardian didn't back them. Gordon Brown was subject to more smear campaigns than anyone else I can remember in my lifetime. This is not surprising; when Rupert Murdoch has such a monopoly on the printed press, it's the least we can expect. However, it is a bit rich for you to complain when the UKIP/tory scandals are exposed.

Both main parties are riddled with them according to conspiracytruths.com

I'm sure if you typed 'labour party paedophiles' into google you could find some information. I'm quite sure you could find as much if you typed the same with the Conservative party, or the liberal democrats, or politicians, or teachers, or the police force, or celebrities, or the church, or almost anything for that matter. You cannot imply that a major political party in our country actively promotes paedophilia, it is ridiculous and disrespectful to 99% of MPs and councillor a who work hard and do a good job.

"Immigration to Britain has not increased unemployment or reduced wages, a major new study has concluded.

Researchers at the London School of Economics looked at the levels of immigration to each of Britain’s counties, and compared it to the unemployment rate in the same area across the same period.

They found that there was no connection between how much immigration a county had seen between 2004 and 2012 and the area’s level of unemployment.

The study also looked at whether migrants coming to an area had led to a fall in wage levels and found no evidence that this was the case.

Many areas that saw huge increases in immigration had seen wages rise and unemployment fall, while many areas which had seen no immigration had suffered from falling wages and rises in employment."

Over to you, Nigel.....

When our island sinks with the weight of immigration - it is unsustainable with the EU and migrant workers - we have skill shortages - so a skill card to choose the necessary labour market we need would be a good idea like Australia, and New Zealand etc its not racist just common-sense - if you allow a town or city to flood in our infrastructure is undeveloped to cope with it - its been like it since the eastern block countries joined the EU - the report above can be slanted anyway you want - but deep down even DC knows we have too much immigration on low wages below the minimum wages by the gang masters, it has to stop! 30 million in one year DC well missed his targets even outside the EU immigration is up!

30 million?

With or without immigration we would get to the same population eventually anyway and we would cope. Better people coming with skills.

Over to you, Nigel.....

I think the issue of unemployment is fairly simple. The UK has generated millions of new jobs, without immigration the UK would have zero unemployment. Immigration has taken up many of the new jobs created but the number created is still bigger than immigration hence a reduction in overall unemployed. It is disingenuous to use unemployment figures as a way of proving that immigration has had no effect. Immigration has reduced the potential positive effect of new job generation upon the native UK unemployed population, and you know this to be so.......so let's be honest in this debate .....

With or without immigration we would get to the same population eventually anyway and we would cope. Better people coming with skills.

If it were better people coming with skills, such as the very many doctors and nurses etc who have come here then there would be no issue. The issue is upon unskilled workers who are unemployed and are being either undercut by cheaper labour, or are they are just too lazy to work.......

Need more chicken sexers at £40k/yr. Good eyesight, very dexterous manually and fast working (1000/hr).

Fascinating stuff for once on the Jeremy Whine show yesterday
