Carroll will score plenty for Wham as Allardyce will have the whole side set up to play to his strengths. Despite what's happened at that dump, I still rate him highly as a focal point for a physical side that will get crosses in.

I was suprised Stoke never made a big move for him.

So the RS need to sell to buy. Carroll is going to West Ham on loan, leaving only Saurez and Borini to play up front. Spearing is going to Bolton on loan even though they've lost Lucas to injury for 3 months and Adam might be on his way out. Say they raise £5m from Adam and Cole, they're not going to get a lot for that on the last day of the transfer window.

In midfield they will only have Sahin, Gerrard, Henderson, Shelvey, Assaidi and Allen if Downing will be a left back in future. Their Moroccan winger has a 1 in 4 record for Heerenveen but only 1 in 22 for his national side. Walcott is stopping at Arsenal and even if he wasn't Liverpool couldn't afford him and would be a big step down.

Up front their only options currently are Saurez, Borini and Sterling. Yesil never made an appearance for Bayer Leverkusen and will surely start in the RS academy. He might have a sensational record at U17 level but he's gone three games without a goal for the U18. So they've only got one striker who has scored in the Premier League.

Sturridge might go there on loan but I don't think he would fancy a permanent move and they wouldn't have the funds anyway.
