You sure you're not a kopite?

Seriously? Better than what we have here.

Go have a word with yourself.

You dispute that Owen is better than Saha, Beckford or Anichebe ?

Even if you disagree, not exactly an outlandish claim is it !?

Why do people keep banging on about Demba Ba?

Who the hell is Demba Ba when he's at home??

Links to his awesomeness please, I'm way too lazy.

The one skill that set Owen apart was his pace.
Now, he's just another aged striker. Nowhere near geniuses like Forlan who can pull off the most incredible performances.
What did Owen do at ManU to be a good fit for us?

age, wages, injuries....there is a lot going against this one...He did nearly sign a few years ago though....hmmm...as much as anything else is owen 'hungry' enough for it. I.e. you play for Everton you ought to want to die for the shirt....not so sure if he does. The jury is out....In Moyes we trust

We get Owen..we calm the critics down by putting him on a pay-per-play wage, he invariably gets crocked and yet again we have yet another money syphon sitting around at home / at the races, whilst we struggle to fill voids left by players every man and his dog knew would be a gamble. Gambling on such players is retroactive..it flies in the face of what Moyes has based his crieria on for the past ten years and his policy not to sign people close to or over 30 years age. Remember,we lost Rooney to Bill's over eagerness to cash in on the flavour of the month, after he promised us it would take over £50 million to prise away our greatest young asset in modern history. Too many young players have come and gone : Cadmatteri, Jug Ears etc..who we all thought were the Next Blue Vision and now we are resorting to 'rumours' of players who've taken the money and sat on some of the world's greatest benches..can anyone honestly remember a land mark moment in Owen's career whilst at Real Madrid off the top of their heads? The man is a mercenary of the highest calibre. Get him and we might as well be held to ransom by Tony Soprano week in week out. Throwing good money after bad.

We are Everton, we should know our limitations..we cannot afford to throw away good money in these times of austerity !We've already been burnt by the likes of Billy and not learnt our lesson :(

Owen and Bily are nothing alike in terms of their situation. Owen has proven he has the ability to play in the Premiership, he's been blighted by injury and benched a lot in recent years but if we can spend £10m on some Russian lad then i don't see why we can't offer Owen a PAYP and see how it goes.

If this was five or six years ago..I'd agree, but sadly in this current climate and with our dire situation financially, we are not really in any position to gamble, we're playing with the house's money right now as it is. So,to pay a man who is very much in the twilight of his career a shed load of money to not just sit on the bench or the stands but to maintain his very comfortable horse owners lifestyle at home, would be just suicidal money wise and also leave us scambling for a forward on a weekly basis. He's not getting any younger. His lust for the game has ebbed and this is in total contrast to what we need right now .. he said it himself , months ago.. " I have at least one good goal left in me this season" . How's that for motivating yourself and making the other strikers quake in their boots with fear of losing their place ?! The man is just happy to sit at home and count the cash of whoever is daft enough to risk signing him.

I think people are remembering Owen for what he used to be like, he hasn't got much of a look int UTD because of Berba/Rooney/hernandez which is no great embarrasment.

I dont see how he can fit into an everton side that only plays a 451 and Owen has said himself he wouldn't go to a 'smaller club'z

It's a no for me.

We wont be getting Ba. Well not on them wages he wants. God knows which club it was who offered 60k per week.

Peoples, Owen is a proven goalscorer at the highest level! that's exactly what we need is it not? Most of his injuries involved freaks in training, he hasn't had an injury in a year now or hamstrings, which he has stopped getting after adapting his gate, those doubting his hunger, ferguson recently said he is outstanding in training and looks very hungry, he also said he feels bad not playing him but he can't drop the chicarito Rooney partnership as it's the best in europe, he has also chosen Owen ahead of Berbatov on the bench recently to prove his confidence in Owen, we will soon find out if he gets his contract extended, which i'm thinking he will but if he does become a free agent, i will be delighted for us to try and offer him a deal, he's definitely the best option ahead of Bothroyd and Klose who have hardly any prem experience at all between the two of them.
