Well we can definitely do pitch invasions and this in itself seems to be enough for the media to want us to go down. We also love a good flare (yes maybe even those you wear). We can 100% surpass this by singing 'Good Times' by Chic for the full 90 mins during our final game, before the obligatory pitch invasion and flare throwing.
Is this where we become a team that nobody will acknowledge that it actually exists? I'm not sure whether this would be preferable to being disbanded, or would we thrive in being ignored and despised by every other team.

Hamburger SV for sure. The parallels are uncanny. One of the most traditionally great clubs in their league, a port city club, the best side in Europe in the 1980s, defeating Bayern was one of their all-time highs, ever-present in the top flight, utterly mismanaged. Still in the second division after the unthinkable happened.
Thinking outside of the box?!? Not sure about the 1986 Challenger Mission as they undoubtedly were highly skilled individuals that were let down by circumstances out of their control. The backroom support may have been responsible but not the guys in the shuttle. The same cannot be said for our team where the players on the pitch are equally as poor as the board and management. As for Price Ed he didn't fail in all respects. Yes he was derided by the media, but it was watched by 18 million in this country alone and his team finished in 3rd place. (Admittedly there were only 4 teams). We can do so much better than this. If we had a team in that event we would undoubtedly have received the wooden spoon.
Anyone mentioned Southport FC, cant recall the exact year, around mid 70s tho, door to door collections took pace to gather funds for a re-elected to the football league campaign!

He scored 23 league goals that season. I mean that’s staggering really. But top man that he was he stayed and we went straight back up. It’s not really surprising we are where we are when you look at our record over the last number of years. All teams that flirt regularly with relegation succumb in the end. Clubmoor Under 12’s are not going to be happy with that comparison, you may need to get yourself some legal assistance!

Villa mid 80s having won the league in 81 then the European cup in 82. That was a bigger fall from grace than when we got relegated a few seasons back, as it had been on the cards for a few seasons anyway. Also Villa going straight down to the third division early 70s on the brink of bankruptcy. Leeds 2000s was also a big one .

I saw them at home about ten years ago and couldn't agree more. Big club but seething fan base at odds with the management. Only difference was the cracking new stadium.

valencia, who I believe still have a half built stadium sitting collecting dust.
Only 1 season down in the 2nd tier in recent decades. But the half built stadium is right up our alley. With ours being in such a prominent riverside position it could provide an embarrassing spectacle for years to come.
