For me atsu has to play against Utd, we saw when kev went off against the RS how slow and one dimensional we looked going forward.

It's not far off though. I'd take a point in Russia all day, but I think we might be underestimating them.

End of the day we finish mid table in the league and you can kiss goodbye to rom, ross and coleman etc. Sadly we need to maintain a top 7 at worst finish preferably top 6. We can't afford to go 5 points behind Utd and possibly spurs, RS etc. By having a jet lagged side face the likes of Di Maria, Falcao, RVP etc.

Nope.
Coleman has made it clear he is extremely happy and grateful to be playing for us. Lukaku has just signed, there's zero chance he'd leave after one year and zero chance anybody would pay what we would want for him. And Ross ? Finishing mid table or finishing 5th will be irrelevant, he's going to be subject to a massive bid at some point and we'll almost certainly take the money.

Gonna have to agree to disagree. Sadly league form means more than trophies for most teams it's why arsenal go all guns blazing for 4th over a trophy if it came down to it as it's vital for attracting the better players.
We finish 6th and get europa league for example, we would have more chance of attracting players than you would for getting to the europa semis and going out to a roma or sevilla etc. Lukaku would never have came if we never got European football martinez said that himself European football is vital to us.

Silly comparison. Getting 4th and the chance to play in the Champions League is a million miles away from finishing 6th or 5th.
This whole 'beat Lille and Krasnodar at home and we're easily through' is a daft mentality. If it weren't for Howard in that Wolfsburg game we could have easily drawn that match. Lille are currently 3rd in their league, ahead of both PSG and Monaco. Hardly pushovers.
You go into every match in Europe and try to get all three points. End of.

Disagree and it would be the same people whinging if the likes of lukaku and Naismith put in sub standard performances against utd Sunday if we play them Thursday. It's a squad game and we have to use the squad, Utd beat us and Southampton win for example they go 10 points ahead of us, the difference between finishing say 5th and 9th is a good few million which for a club like ourselves can be the difference between making a signing or not.
In the group stages league form has to come first especially when your talking about a 2000 mile or so journey to an area of Russia before a vital match against a top 4 rival just 3 days later.
dear me lad, our squad should be capable of beating them anyway. We're not losing coleman, barkley or rom anytime soon unless we finish 12th or lower - which we won't. People need to stop being so negative about losing our players. We don't need to sell, and they're all happy here. Unless someone comes and bids 40/50 mil, they'll be here. Whats the point in travelling to Russia if we're not prepared to go and win the game? I personally would make a few changes, but keep some first teasers on the bench. Eto'o isn't exactly a bad option to have as a second choice forward
