Ok I have been through this thread. I can see no one has posted this so I assume you don't know it.

Athens Derby - Panathiniakos v Olympiacos. Our hero has not long been appointed as Michel did the unthinkable and was not top of the table and so was sacked before Vitor rode in to the rescue. He did his homework and he knew all about those evil green ultras, so before the game kicked off, he strode over to but them in their place:

Watch our hero goad them to come fight him!

Vitor goes to court

With a court case hanging over his head, Vitor gets out of Greece sharpish. But not before doing the League and Cup Double. He's then replaced by Silva.

imagine him doing that at the Kop end.

This is Vitor's finest hour as Porto manager. I see all the gifs taken from this game, but have you ever watched the game itself? It gives you an idea of how Pereira's Porto played. 433 Formation.

The context here is that Vitor has succeeded AVB, promoted from assistant to manager. In his first season he won the League. In his second season he's been a bit tetchy as he was expecting a Premier League club to come in for him, cos that's what happens when you win the Primeira Liga. Vitor wants to get paid! Anyway, the fans start to turn on him and he's struggling to stay with Jorge Jesus' Benfica side who are two points ahead. Vitor has only lost 1 League game in two years and with 1 game left after this, his whole career is riding on it. If he draws Benfica take the title and Vitor will probably get sacked and no big foreign contract. If he wins, then he still needs to beat Paulo Fonseca's Pacos de Ferreira who are having the most amazing season and are 3rd (2 places above Marco Silva's Estoril who are also having a sensational season) and then he will win back to back titles.

Anyway, watch the game. Portugal's game of the decade. In the aftermath, Vitor gets in touch with Everton and tries to get the job here.

Hi Vitor

I'm preparing to reconcile myself to the probability we are getting Pereira.

Ancelotti would be great but in all likelihood a pipe dream.

This is Everton and we are getting this loon.

I wish we'd go for Leo Jardim with a proven track record of developing kids, managed in an unfancied side to the CL semis only 2 years ago, but has had a bad time since and so his stock has fallen to the extent that we could tempt him. Gallardo is an exciting prospect. But Pereira might be the lunatic we never know we needed.

You mean this record:

2011-12 Porto:
League: Champions
Cup: 4th Round
L. Cup: Semi Final
Super Cup: Winners
UCL: Groups
EL: R32

2012-13 Porto:
League: Champions
Cup: 5th Round
LC: Runners-Up
UCL: Last 16

2013-14: Al-Hilal:
League: 2nd
Cup: Runners-Up
ACL: n/a as did not qualify season before

2014-5: Olympiacos (joined in January with club in 2nd)
League: Champions
Cup: Winner
UCL: Groups (before he took over)
EL: R32
(Note Silva replaces Pereira and wins league only)

2015-16: Fenerbache:
League: 2nd
Cup: 2nd
UCL: 3rd Qualifying round
EL: Last 16
(Note Fener last won the league in 2014 and have not won since, or indeed won anything)

2016-17: Fenerbache:
sacked in August before season starts for failing to qualify for UCL groups.

2017: 1860 Munchen:
League: relegated from Bundesliga 2 as 3rd bottom
Link

2018: Shanghai SPIG:
League: Champions (ending Guangzhou's run of 7 consecutive titles)
Cup: QF
Asian CL: Last 16

2019: Shanghai SPIG:
League: 2nd
Cup: SF
Asian CL: QF
But don't forget this Chinese Super League Match Fixing Scandal but note it's a different Shanghai team to the one Pereira currently manages.

Trophy count:
Leagues: 4
Runners-up: 3
Cups: 1
Super Cup / Charity Shields: 3
Win %
Porto 69.57
Al-Hilal: 51.35
Olympiacos: 60.00
Fenerbache: 61.29
1860 Munchen: 30.00
Shanghai SPIG: 60.47
Overall: 57.51

So you're saying he's done well mainly when he's he's taken over at the some of the biggest clubs in their respective countries? Colour me surprised.

No mate. We are just sick of appointing managers who have failures on their CV. Sacked by Olympiacos, relegated 1860 Munich, this is exactly the same record Silva has, why can’t you see why we are want a manager who has a record of WINNING matches and trophies?
Well we will just have to enjoy Moyes then

He wasn't sacked by Olympiacos, it was a mutual, and it was solely down to the video above and the fact he had a court case pending. His position was untenable, despite saving their season by doing the League and Cup double.
