Sorry to be so blunt Lordyefc, but for those who have not been up for most of the night, the actual source has been posted. In my quote above this is the actual news agency, not a repeat report from BBC / Sky et al. Click on it yourself.

last night I reading through all the message, which sound interesting if it's true and whether or not it is true there is not much we can do to stop it.
Now we just have to wait a day or two, may be someone would say something on the OS and put us out of misery, if it is a good takeover then I wish is us, but still I think we could live through it even if it not us.

That part makes me also hopeful it could be us. 100 million sounds about right for 60% of the shares. Don't think it's the RS, as I envisage their shares would cost a lot more than 100 million.

Davek, there you go with all this positive vibes again. think that the majority of fans will see Kenwrights legacy as the man who helped turn us from relegation fodder to top six material or have you forgotten the relegation haunted years already? I know it hurts you to even think of praising the man, but he did play a part.
A grudging acknowledgement wouldn't hurt you know.
Kenwright will also be remembered by the majority of fans as a man who was never a good businessman, who did, as you say, miss a number of good commerical opportunities. But he is a blue.
Anyway, we are writing his obituary a bit too soon as I agree with you that even if this is true, I can't honestly see him walking away exit stage left. Doesn't sound like the Bill we know and love.
I went to several major UK national newspaper sites. None are reporting it as fact. The current guardian report says this: "The report was greeted with scepticism among figures with experience of Premier League takeovers."
Still, easy to just to rudely accuse somebody of making no effort to check sources. I advise you to get a job at a UK newspaper, as your sources are clearly better than theirs.

This particular takeover isn't about Everton. Or rather, it isn't if Kirkby is still being pursued, which, it seems clear, it still is. As you know, the club's financial pitch to the public inquiry was based on there being no chance of a takeover to fund full costs - hence a local authority is having to 'donate' to the stadium scheme. I'll start taking seriously talk of takeovers post Secretary of State's decision. It'll become a real issue soon after that, because we'll need funding to build it if the scheme is granted, and Bill will be a dead duck if it isn't granted.

My sources are not only better than their, its the original source!!!! All of the quotes and variations thereof are taken from the original WAM press release. There are no other sources. Nobody has questioned the legitimacy of the agency.
I am not too sure if the UAE understand the British humour of "April fools day", especially as that went some months ago.
There will be a news conference in a few days, so we'll know who it is. I am not sure if its wise for anyone to leak it from any club (its not 100% certain its us anyway), before that day, so we'll all have to put up with the speculation for a few more days, but a takeover (subject to due diligence) has happened.
We simply don't know which club yet.
I would discount Portsmouth, and replace them with West Ham. Their creditors want to get shot asap, they don't want a football club, they just want their money back.
To me its either us, the rs or West Ham.
Sorry for the venom, but short of someone from any club coming up and saying "Its a fair cop, its us gov", I am not sure what more evidence, sources you need?
We can only go on what is available and that is simply a one sentence statement issued with some ambiguous wording in it.
