Takeover?

If it is us i would prefer we dont go nuts and buy big name players for the sake of it. I would much rather we buy good young players and move into the top four and do it properly. Not do it the way Chelsea did and "buy" the title by paying ridiculous prices and outbidding all the other teams.

Portsmouth are in the middle of their own takeover!!

And think about the figures....£100M for 60% of Portsmouth...A team with a Stadium not worth a wank. Not at all a successful club. If someone paid that money for them, they would be getting well and truly ripped off.

*puts on his blue tinted specs*....

..I think them figures are right for us!!

Im with you on that info, if its correct. £100 m for 60 % of Everton is about right I reckon. I dont think the £100 m would all go to the 60% share holder though. You would have to factor in all the debt we are carrying. £100 m aint enough for 60 % of LFC and it does seem to much for 60 % of pompey.

Maybe, just maybe it's us.

Milner, when you've got gazillions to spend ?

How about Rooney? :o

I have very close contacts, and he would definitely come back if:

a. we were in better financial position (y)
b. had a chance of winning something (y)
c. Moyes was not in charge

I'd like to see us be ambitious but for the right players, not Galacticos.

Tevez would be a superb signing for instance because he's high profile and would only go to a club with a fair bit to spend (City, United, Chelsea) but he's also a Moyes kind of player, I know for a fact he'd be an instant fans favourite at GP. Think of AJ's workrate but with a muchhhh better end product.

Moyes is the right man for sure! The foundations are there due to him and it's time to build on that.

UAE move in for mystery Premier League club
Another Premier League club could be passing into Middle-Eastern ownership after the official United Arab Emirates news agency reported that Ahmed bin Saqr al-Qassimi, a member of the UAE ruling family, had bought a majority stake in an unnamed club.

According to the unsourced report al-Qassimi, a member of the ruling family of Ras al-Khaimah, would be taking a 60 per cent stake and be appointed honorary chairman this week. A Premier League spokesman said they had no knowledge of an imminent takeover.

Ras al-Khaimah is one of seven members in the UAE federation which also includes Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Last year Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan bought Manchester City, while Portsmouth is the subject of a bid from another Abu Dhabi investor, Sulaiman al-Fahim.

A spokesman for al-Fahim denied Portsmouth was al-Qassimi’s target, while a source close to Anfield’s owners denied Liverpool was the club in question.

Should al-Qassimi take a stake in one of the British-owned clubs in the league it will make overseas investors a majority round the Premier League table. Ten clubs are in foreign ownership: Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Sunderland, West Ham, Fulham and Manchester City.
