T20 World Cup

Still think they got this badly wrong at the toss. Runs on the board in knock out cricket matters a lot. Forget analytics, they don't factor in nerves and the occasion. 220 batting first is a winning score all day
Did you not see the SA v NZ result, you cretin?

England have won 3 one-day international tournaments batting second but because we lost today it was the wrong decision. Cretin (in my best Roy Keane impression).

This team has made 300 in 20 overs and 500 in 50 overs batting first. Their strength is batting first and batting big. Its even more important in big knockout games where you can use scoreboard pressure if you get runs on the board.

I could find a lot of examples in recent years of England choosing to bowl first and then struggling under scoreboard pressure in white ball cricket.

Today the main reason they lost was fielding. But I like this team batting first and putting up scores on the board.

Archer should have come in ahead of Overton at the death, purely for the reason that Archer can get going quickly and has a tendency to pick up a few boundaries when you badly need them. Brook's drop catch undoubtedly changed the course of the match but that should not detract from England's efforts. After all, poor fielding also proved costly for the West Indies when they faced India in the Super 8s.

New Zealand to win, says the whole cricketing world, bar India

McCullum still spouting nonsense :

"There's probably a perception that we run a casual operation," McCullum said.

"It couldn't be more further from the truth.

"We run an informal operation but the work is done, the preparation is put in place, there's an environment which operates in a certain way, and because you are relaxed around that doesn't mean that the work is not being done.

"That's just an attitude to try and allow guys to be as free as possible to implement the skills and tactics that you're trying to achieve."
