Possibly, but I don't think he has been helped. Especially in the test team at number 3.
Have to admit my impression of him in England a few years back was that he was talented but a touch on the meek side.
Yeah that's a pretty fair description, he doesn't seem like the sort of player that could dig in when the chips are down. More likely a decent score would come under little to no pressure and his bowling is pretty robotic too.
I thought before the Ashes he'd be the one to emerge as a bonafide star. Could possibly be time to just put the bowling away and work on becoming purely a batsman.

Doubt it, they'll just hide behind the injuries to key players. Selectors have got the whole thing wrong picking a mix of old, injured, out of form and not very good players. Some players tick pretty much every box in that category *cough marcus stoinis cough*
