All ANZAC final then and I think the two teams who grew into the competition best of all meet in the final. Both had early setbacks but looked all the stronger as it progressed.
Always looked like Australia were on target to me although the clatter of wickets after the power play gave Pakistan a sniff. Hasan Ali might feel as though he dropped the trophy when he misjudged Wade's skier but with 6 balls to spare he shouldn't feel that.
Australia have a decisive historical advantage when looking back in meetings between the two but i've always thought NZ had their name on this trophy and are so tough to beat. Tbh Dubai gives the least advantage of all to sides batting second. It's as much to do with the format of T20 that a side so mentally strong and knowing what's reauired will always attempt shots they might not batting first when the urgency to do so isn't as clear.

Before our game yesterday I put a double on NZ and Aus to win the semi's at 4/1 so at least got a few quid for my pain.

And regarding the England v NZ semi, although on the scoreboard it looked as if Malan & Moeen did well, I don’t think so. They played and missed at quite a lot of dot balls. Livingstone should have gone in no.3 or 4, having two left handers in together was a mistake. As a result, England were about 15 short, which probably would have been enough to see them through.
