T20 World Cup

Chris Jordan as a death bowler was the most expensive but as he's not Mark Wood he may come in for less criticism. Unfortunately losing the toss meant it was all too predictable but I think New Zealand would have found a way anyway tbh. Although you can blame it on the bowlers, chasing was always easier on this wicket. Jason Roy's injury was the straw that broke the camel's back for me, we needed 180 plus.

New Zealand remain my tip to win it.

T20 all the top sides can beat each other if it's their day. One over decided it.

Hope NZ win it if they play the Aussies in the final, otherwise would like Pakistan to win - be a big boost to them, especially after NZ and England pulled out of touring there.

It mystifies me how the same people constantly underrate NZ, even though they apparently consistently overachieve in pretty much every international ICC world cricket competition.

They missed out in the ODI world cup only by extreme bad fortune with Ben Stokes' inadvertent deflection off his bat for four proving crucial. Even then it was via a super over. They've proved their versatility and are excelkent over all formats. They hammered india to win the test championship, knocked India out of the ODI world cup and indeed obliterated India here too to ineffect send them packing and out of this competition.

They were hardly given a mention in preview shows as pundits chose to ignore them in favour of the team they perennially get the better off, India.

New Zealand are far more than the sum of their individual parts, a well drilled team who have become used to the big stage in big competitions.

Funny thing is I actually think the 20/20 format is our worst. Players like Williamson, Boult and Southee, in spite of their undoubted class, are clearly best suited to test matches. I think it speaks more to our comparatively small player pool that we have so many of our test squad playing in the 20/20 World Cup.

As you say, we're definitely a team greater than the sum of it's parts. Clearly fantastic leadership, coaching, and team spirit. Only disappointing thing is New Zealand v England should have been the final rather than the semi-final.

Great watch this. Pakistan going all guns blazing but I think they may be slightly disappointed. Z amps really pulled them back and Cummins at the death. Starc got slogged in the last over. So let's see what diddy David Warner can do with able assistance from Finchy Smith and others. Could be tight this and Aus have a chance for sure.
