T20 World Cup

South Africa deserved that, an excellent unbeaten partnership from Rassie Van Der Dussen and Aiden Markham ensured a sizeable target, unbeaten being key as it was a good wicket when a batman is properly settled In but difficult to start an innings on. Australia's earlier mullering of West Indies ensured South Africa's efforts would be no avail but they can count themselves unfortunate to be in the tough group and not the easier one.

The biggest concern for England is their huge injury list with Jason Roy pulling up as he was looking good and is bound to be out for the tournament. joining Stokes, Sam Curran, Archer and Mills already on the sidelines. When JayRoy go injured in the 50 overs world cup James Vince proved so poor a replacement it nearly cost England dear. Bairstow opens and Billings in is my bet.

My sneaking suspicion is New Zealand will win this trophy.

NZ will be strong opposition to England, I like teams who grow into a competition & they are doing that.

New Zealand will be looking for revenge, should be a great match.

As soon as NZ battered India most pundits (aside from Cricinfo that is) predicted would be the semis, and that's how it's rather predictably turned out.

England Vs New Zealand Wednesday (afternoon our time) in Abu Dhabi

Pakistan Vs Australia Thursday afternoon GMT time in Dubai

Final next Sunday afternoon (GMT time) in Dubai

They could well get it too imo.

England losing Jason Roy is a crippling blow, they've lost more than simply an outstanding opening batsman. It
also deprives them of a player who is the standard-bearer for England’s entire philosophy as a team.

As Morgs himself said

“He's a guy who epitomises everything that we are about in the changing room and in the way that we play,”

Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, Tymal Mills and now Jason Roy.

To me Jason Roy's injury is all the more significant because it comes on the back of an already sizeable absentee list.

I tend to agree, the one thing about T20 it only takes one special performance to win, and England still have a few players who can turn it on.

Must admit to thinking New Zealand are going to win the trophy, I've had this feeling for some time and everything seems to be conspiring to make it seem very possible now
