Really frustrating that we didn't get the goal. Sunderland will probably be improved in the second half, so this could now very much go either way. We've played some very good stuff and have had two great chances. Wish we'd taken one.

Mcgeady has been excellent.
They wont get better they'll get more tired like burnley did, theyve had to chase it around a lot

Frustrating. By far the better team but no cutting edge as is far too often the case.

Btw, when was the last time Lukaku scored a header? I'm sure he did it plenty of times for West Brom and a few times for us too, he scored a couple of belter headers for us. Remember him busting a gut to head home vs West Brom and knocking himself out in the process?!
Utter nonsense, they have had the chances, our keeper has been called upon 2 or 3 times

What's Lukaku supposed to do. We get into good positions to cross and it just goes back and across the middle again.

We have no one that can make a cutting pass from there. That's not Eto'o, Barkley, McGeady or McCarthy's game.

Until we get that kind of player we need to just start throwing it into the box and hope someone gets on it or a rebound.

It's games like this Martinez looks clueless.

co-commentator is a gobsh1te. Keeps saying Everton have no players in the box which is hard to understand considering that Sunderland are holding a line 5 yds outside the box. Does he want the Everton players to be offside?

We haven't fully got going yet but we are certainly the best team and think we will go on a and win. McGeady impressing this half defensively and attacking. Think Coleman looks a bit out of sorts with Wickham and Gibbo looks a little rusty with his passing but is available all the time.

Just a thought before we get back into the second half:

how about a RAWK type roundtable thread post match to analyse all this?

Got this WBA-Newcastle game on in the background, I don't actually think there's been a worse game in the history of football

I'm watching that. Anichebe giving great demonstration of how to be a target man. Playing well, some lovely knockdowns, and he just turned Collicini with sheer strength.

That was poor our tactics are not right.
Martinez is great in europe but he is strugging in the premiership.
Last season it worked cos we surprised teams but now we are so slow an predictable its easy for the opposition to play against us and because it works in europe martinez does not change things or know how to change.
Sunderland are poor but a win today for them an they go above us

How many chances has he missed

I'm not bothered about that - it's the aimless drifting, non-existent workrate and terrible control that concerns me as per usual.

After all the encouragement against Lille too. Shame.

Hopefully he starts playing in the second half.
