Early goal catches the worm, lads.

Smash one in early doors and their hearts and heads will drop. Fans have pretty much accepted relegation already and an early goal will kill off any faint hopes they had of even putting up a fight to survive.

HOWARD
COLEMAN - STONES - DISTIN - BAINES
DEULOFEU - MCCARTHY - BARRY - MCGEADY
OSMAN
LUKAKU

Keep Ross, Mirallas, Naismith on the bench ready to come on and make a difference. Osman to start here and be 'rested' for the next two games this week.

The onus is on them to go for it, so we need two of Mirallas, McGeady and Deulofeu on the wings to counter attack them.

If they score first it'll be a long day, if we do, then we could possibly knock them for 3 or 4.

Listen, every single one of us has that sinking feeling heading into fixtures like this. It's the Everton way to win a game like Arsenal and then turn around and lose this one. But that was under Moyes. Sunderland have spit the bit. Even a draw would be a calamity. The good news is Sunderland need 3 points here. They can't just sit back and play for the draw. They have to go forward at times. And when they do...look out.

The key will be either to rest someone from the start or get them off early, Ross or Rom aren't gonna be able to play 90 minutes against Sunderland, Palace, and United. Play Deulofeu on Saturday to give Mirallas a rest and then try and rotate the wingers, maybe Barry or McCarthy off for Osman. Either way both these next two games should be easy, this one will be 3-1 I think.

i'd give barry a rest vs sunderland. think mccarthy has enough in the tank so to speak to last out the season. maybe play barkley deeper and play naisy or osman behind rom

"Sunderland have already done a cruel job on us this season on Boxing Day in front of an expectant Goodison crowd and they find themselves in a similarly desperate position towards the end of the season staring relegation not only fully in the face but moving in to neck said relegation fully, with tongues, and a hope of some under jumper bare tit. No need to prime Sunderland with White Lightening prior as she’s wonderfully far from shy."

Just sent this to a Sunderland fan - he thought it was brilliant and agreed with every word

I'd be surprised if they don't play for the draw after they try a couple counters and we smash it in the back of the net.

4-0 Everton. Baines, Barkley, McGeady, Osman

We'll rip them. He'll play Lukaku in Goal, Stones in Midfield and T How up front and they won't know what'll hit them. Seriously though, would have thought we'd continue playing the 4-3-3 with the team pushing into a 3 4 3 when on attack, with Barry or McCarthy dropping into the defence and the wingbacks pushing up to provide and overlap and more width to over work their back 5. Barkley running in and around the hole at defenders and so on.
These kind of comments show how boss Everton are. I thought about how good Lukaku would be for about 5 seconds. Btw, in my mind, he was dead boss.
