Another massive game for us, really need to turn up today...no after The Lord Mayor Show. We need to be professional and play our game. If we stay focused we will win this game, soon as they conceded their confidence will go.

Anything less then a win will be hugely disappointing and hand Arsenal the incentive.

With tough game coming up we need to improve our GD to make sure that's classed as a bonus point.

3-0 Everton COYB

Grey and cool, drizzle at Newcastle Airport .....

Feeling good about this afternoon
oh christ.......

When Evertonians are feeling good, its usually not a good sign *sigh*.

Having said that, i remember making a post on the Tuesday, days before the Arsenal game saying i ' wasn't nervous and wasn't thinking about it '......... that turned out ok.

3-0 Everton, think there's an outside chance of a Hibbert goal off the bench. Only record that hasn't been broken this season haha

Mate it feels a little like the mid 80's when we used to turn up almost knowing for certain that we were going to win....

Far too much optimism in here. Not having this lads....... Its going to end up pear shaped and this thread will most likely see 3000 replies by midnight tonight.

im bricking it.....2-1 Sunderland lol

To be fair, my expectations have been changed completely this season - going from "maybe we can get it here" to "nothing but a win is acceptable", in nearly all games (probably only Man City I knew that we'd have to be playing at 200% to get anything from that with their form at the time).

Every game is winnable with us being like we are now. COYB!

To be a consistent winner you have to think like a winner.

Ok we need to prepare well and there be no complacency but if we are top 4 material we have to go into this game expecting to win.

Fans included!

This is true. Our fellow humans from across the park believe they can win anything, the arrogance gets into their players, it even infects the match officials.

Spot on post mate, it's basically the arrogance that Martinez often speaks of that he likes to see in his players/team

These games are fixtures which you have to win should you want to qualify for any form of European football; it will be an incredibly tough, tense game. Barry and McCarthy will have to break down and frustrate Cattermole, who will do vice versa, should we wish to impose ourselves on the game.

An early goal is vital; if we get it, the crowd will turn and the momentum will be very much in our favour. We need to still be in the game or ahead until the 70th minute; then we can make the changes which helped us beat Fulham or the ones which stabilise the midfield and defence for the final 20.

This game and Southampton away will be crucial; the adrenalin and drive will be there for City and United and we have to replicate that level of enthusiasm from Sunday not just for today but for the remainder of the season; we slipped over banana skins like this in the previous regime and we can't afford another one today.

Keep Borini and Johnson quiet and get the crowd on their backs and we'll win; first goal is integral.

COYB!!! Allez Allez oh!
