I don't hate him, he's just not going to take us anywhere higher than we are I don't think.
Decent players signed for free bulk out the squad though, and allow us to spend more on the positions we need to. Which could take us higher than we are.

Each individual player we sign is not supposed to 'Take us to the next level'. You will need to look at all the signings as a whole.

James McCarthy cant play 60 games a season at the high intensity he does., same for Barry & Gibson. We need fresh legs in the middle.

YEs and no.

I just like exciting signings a little too much. And Jack Colback isn't one. But of course I understand the value he can add.

Fair enough. If signing Colback allows us to actually buy Lukaku, surely that would please everyone ??

I can see us getting 1 of these Colback / Rodwell / McArthur....all these based on the media and ITK links we have seen.

Now, adding 1 of these would bulk out the squad and allow some more rotation.

Ideally, I would like a player along these lines Delph / Much / Livermore.

We've been scouting loads in Spain. More specifically, around Valencia and Barcelona.

From reports of who we've been watching (and who's available), I'd say it's likely that we'll sign at least one from:

Gil
Navas (the goalkeeper)
Afellay
Cuenca

Any of them would be good.

LOOK JACK COLBACK IS GASH AND I'VE BEEN JUST TOO SCARED TO SAY IT AFTER THE WHOLE JAMES MCCARTHY NOT BEING GASH DEBACLE FROM LAST SUMMER

Join the club mate, he's a decent squad player and thats all imo, same role as the likes of naismith, oviedo etc fill
I think Oviedo is a good option myself. Certainly could fill in without a noticeable difference. We complain about a small squad and a lack of depth and then people want Colback though? I'd rather invest what money we have in quality options so we can rotate without a massive drop in standard.

Im just gonna have to put the thread starter on ignore so I cant read this tosh anymore.

Its like somebody swallowed FIFA and FM or people think its 1997 and Jack Colback would fit in nicely to a squad fighting relegation.

Know what ya mean mate, but think most of us realise we can choose to add competition depth etc in positions OR bring in players who add quality in positions were a bit goosed on, striker and a creative mid type, and doing both means a compromise somewhere - I'd prefer the depth was given through loans/Bosmans, and spend whatever we have on improving the first 11
