Summer transfer window.

….indication is Stones is asking for a big signing fee, Ake seems more likely to me given Branthwaite’s fragility and can cover at LB.

If I'm honest, Stones a few years ago I would have jumped at, but we would be behind a very long queue, now I wouldn't touch him, injury prone in my view. Ake at 31, too old and has never really stood out for me, that money could be better spent on a younger version.

I think Kayode will have higher suitors than us Zat and Lewis-Skelly isn't a natural left back despite playing there for Arsenal as he's seen more as a central midfielder though he'd still be decent at left back so I dunno what I'm on about 😂

A pretty predictable list of players, hoping it’s just media talk.

Is it that difficult, with all the technology and resources, to find a natural, quality right back that can greatly improve our defence and not having to rely again on a “ that will have to do” attitude that has set us back so many times over the years and yet again having some fans trying to justify it with the “it’s fine. We will be fine “ routine?

I thought there was a sort of restructuring of the recruitment? It doesn’t look like it to me.

100% football has moved on two of PSG's best players are attacking fullbacks.

Jan 2025 we could have had Wesley or Kayode for right back and Truffert at left back at £15-20mil each.

I hope that whatever the budget is we bring in two full backs who can hit the ground running and the positions are taken seriously with budgets of £35mil for each.

If we can bring quality in for less, super. If we need to spend then spend on clear top notch players.

…..and Max Aarons is still only 26 ;)

Delap is a strange one for me, on one hand he’s been an abject failure at Chelsea but it’s been such a weird season for them especially as he was new to what looks like a toxic squad and really hasn’t had a settled run. He showed promise in a poor Ipswich side and I think there’s a player with much more potential than Barry(not a high bar I know). There were a lot on here who wouldn’t have touched Strand-Larsen but he seems to have settled with a better more settled team around him. Still not sure on Delap myself but I wouldn’t write him off just yet.

Great to see Bank Holiday meltdown has already started over the most repetitive links in world football, from the most high profile sites..
