I think we need to bring in a central defender. Unfortunately Ordonez seems to be going elsewhere.

Branthwaite is made of biscuits
Tarkowski is on the slide
Keane is.. Keane.

Jake O’Brien.. is nobody remotely curious why 2 experienced and defence minded premier league managers in Dyche and Moyes don’t want to play him at centre back? It’s a red flag for me tbh.

Lack of experience I’d say is the main reason
They both like experienced players unless they prove to be exceptional like Branthwaite proved when he was at PSV and in Europe

Dyche wasn’t even playing him at full back.

Hopefully we’ll see this season how he goes at CB but I have reservations about him.

Think is fair simply havent seen enough of him at cb, should have been done last season esp during the last games like against spurs. Would have put him at cb and give rohl a chance at cm.

He’s never had a run at CB tbh. I remember people rated Alcaraz from Wigan after his first few games at CB, Funes-Mori too.

Why does he need a run? He’s played about 6 games at CB at various points and has not put a foot wrong there, we look far more solid when he’s there than Keane flailing about and ball watching. I think it’s nothing more than the manager’s stubbornness that he’s not being given a run there to be honest. I don’t think the manager will see out next season so I don’t care what his opinion is.

I saw an article a little earlier linking us with Raoul Bellanova of Atlanta ,I hadn't heard this before (there are so many names mentioned).
A right back apparently, has anybody heard this or know anything about the player?

His highlights video looks good ( don’t they all )
He’s tall fast attack minded can cross a ball and has a shot on him and can pick a pass
Some have said he’s better suited to wing back as Atlanta play a back 3
I have no idea about that though
All I know about Atlanta is they won a European trophy recently and Lookman used to play for them

He has put a foot wrong anyway but it's not exactly a mad take to say that a bloke we've only seen play centre half a handful of times might not actually be absolutely amazing there is it? Even if he'd been completely faultless in half a dozen games, it would still be fair to have doubts because it's a very small sample size.

Not in a million years would Moyes consider him for CB

Anytime he’s come in at centre half (his natural position) last season he was good and covered a lot for Tarkowski’s lack of pace or Keane’s inability/awareness under a high ball.
He’s not the flashiest but he does a good job of defending his box.

To be fair, he's a player I said to watch out prior to last night, so that was more just confirmation.

Would be shocked if obrien would be happy another season playing rb aswell. Also think the club will want to see moyes use players like Dibling better this season and to help get the best of the wingers we need fb who can actually offer something going forward. To stop the wingers getting doubled up on, is far to predictable and slow the style of football. I expect moyes to be backed this summer and should be under pressure to perform. Think he deserves a chance moyes to see what he can do but was a terrible end to the season
