Summer transfer window.

Bourmouth had to sell those players mate and will need to do it again.

SCR is going to bite them, unless they make the CL.
I think they're very comfortable with that dynamic, they sold their entire back line and their best attacking player but had replacements immediately lined up. It's an amped version of the brighton model, they will sell anybody for the right price except they will just buy a younger ready made player to fill in except unlike Brighton they'll spend money just less then what they spent so far the model is working but it does require impeccable consistency to be sustainable

This club are kind a special kind of mindfuck when you think about it. It's like we're allergic to taking the risk of the cheaper player to then just go ahead and get the way more expensive "PREMIER LEAGUE PROVEN" player. Nobody does this. City doesn't do this, Liverpool don't do this, United don't do this, nobody [Poor language removed] does this. It's just so weird how we to be so risk-averse. I mean, i guess it comes from the manager who wants to make sure we 100% do not concede first and foremost so maybe the recruitment is a bit off?

Do you know who does do it? West Ham.

A lot of it will be down to our lack of a good data analytics and scouting system compared to some of the Moneyball sides.

Agreed mate, but they will have to do it within a more limited scope now with SCR.

Them, Brentford and Brighton now have high costs that can’t be managed just on their income, it relies on player sales to sustain.

PSR was a far kinder model to those clubs the SCR, you could advance pay for players make a push, sell a player year 3 and comply - this is what Bournmouth and Brentford have done up to now. Thats not the case now they will need to comply every year, thus their budgets without a player sake are restricted.

They also create little on the commercial side in comparison to other clubs, with bigger grounds and all the bells, whistles sponsors etc.

It’s gotten a lot trickier for them.

Palace and particularly Fulham look shakey also.

Maybe why they invested in Hearts? A more forgiving environment?

We tend to monitor players in the summer mate. You know, when they aren’t playing.

Get called a bed wetter if you complain that we haven’t signed anyone by August and are stumbling around looking for any old ten to two bird.
Do we send our scouts to Ibiza and see how those players perform at the night clubs and beach parties over the summer???

I think Brighton or rather their owner invested in Hearts and Hibs are in the same MCO as Bournmouth mate.
Yeah, but Hearts could be a more fun investment as the costs to compete in the Scottish League are lower. It would be a great advertisement for his business if they break the Old Firm dominance.

It’s not often talked about but there is a fair bit of migration from the PL North, we have the owners or Brighton and Bournmouth involved and Leeds owners are now in control at Rangers.

Think they see the potential untapped up there and no mistake they’ve gone for the big City clubs.

Be interesting if they start loaning players etc.
